I believe in guiding your work toward your specific goals regarding audience, themes, and overall intended feeling. This is why for most services (excluding beta reading) I will begin with questions about your intentions to ensure that I am guiding you in the right direction.

Above all else, I want this to be a positive experience where you feel that your work is seen and helped along toward its fullest potential.

For fiction, I will work with most adult and new adult genres. I am not the best fit for editing children’s and YA books. I enjoy working with all genres and I specialize in romance, fantasy, book club fiction, and light science fiction.

For nonfiction, I will fact check books and articles on most general interest topics. I am not the best fit for medicine or science.

My edit letters include larger comments on prose, but I am not a copy editor and will not correct your grammar on the line level within your manuscripts.

All prospective clients for developmental edits are offered a free 1,000 word sample with comments as well as an example of an edit letter for a complete manuscript. All fact check clients are provided with a 1-page sample. For other services, sample edit letters are happily provided upon request.

All consulting services and services for works under 20,000 words must be paid in full upon booking.

All other services require a 50% deposit upon booking. The remaining 50% will be paid upon completion of the work before the final product is delivered.

The first step is filling out the form on the book/contact page. I will respond within two business days with your next steps. If you are a new client, I may request a short sample of your work to ensure we are a good fit (just as I will provide you with a sample of mine). From there, I will clearly communicate a timeline and provide a contract.

No. I do not edit generative AI-assisted writing and I do not use generative AI to create my edit reports.
